Dear Ockerman Parents, Guardians and Teachers,

Ockerman Elementary PTO's motto is "TOGETHER WE MAKE OUR SCHOOL A SUCCESS". We are looking for dedicated people to help us make Ockerman Elementary more successful.

Ockerman PTO is involved in numerous activities throughout the school year. The following are several activities that Ockerman PTO has made possible in past years.

1. PTO organizes and sponsors activities for students to socialize with their friends and teachers outside of the routine school schedule. Some of the many activities that we plan, fund, and execute include Kentucky Kids Week, Fall Festval, Spring Social, and Conflict Resolution Day.
2. PTO promotes positive behavior by awarding students recognized by their teachers for exhibiting quality behavior with our Student Citizen of the Month Award Nights.
3. PTO assists with field trips financially and by providing volunteers to be chaperones.
4. PTO recognizes hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff by hosting a teacher/staff appreciation week.
5. PTO provides financial assistance to OES for needs that are beyond the limits of its budget. Some examples include the purchase of a new digital piano for the music program, new maps for fifteen classrooms and custom cabinetry for one of our resource classrooms. We also contributed toward the purchase of promotional materials for state testing week and the 5th grade promotion.

We are looking for parents, guardians and teachers that are willing to join the PTO and volunteer their time to make Ockerman Elementary an even better place for our children. If you are interested in getting more involved you can help in the following ways:

• Volunteer to help with events/activites as your schedule allows. Be it planning, setting up, cleaning up, or manning a station durning an event. Every little bit helps.
• Attend PTO meeting or contact a PTO Officer to communicate ideas or concerns.
• Recognize the importance of our fundraisers. Do what you can to support our organization so that we can continue to sponsor activiites and honor financial requests.

If making our school a success and getting involved at Ockerman Elementary is something you would like to be a part of please fill out a PTO Volunteer sign up sheet, join the PTO, join us at our next PTO meeting, or contact one of the PTO Board members for information. Your involvement at Ockerman Elementary lets your child know how much their education means to you. We are looking forward to working with everyone this year.
