We are looking forward to a new year filled with much learning and exciting new activities!  Here are some of our planned lessons.

January 3      Today we read our bible about the Feast of the Epiphany. Our project will be to make a crown and also a door hanger which reminds us that the entrance to our homes is a holy place. Your child will bring home a paper entitled “Epiphany Blessing”.

January 5        Create  snow men to decorate our bulletin boards

January 10       Read about penguins and make a penguin puppet.

January 12       We will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day by reading        .                         about him and his work.

January 17        Together we will read Jan Brett’s fabulous book, The

Mitten.  We’ll play a relay game where we find our own

                           hats and mittens.

January 19       We will read about hibernation and make a bird feeder

from pinecones to feed our feathered friends.

January 24        A messy painting day!  Today we paint bubble paper to

make a blizzard.  Then we’ll dance on some to make it

                           pop! “Sounds” like fun!

January 26         Today we meet with our Third Grade Buddies

(Mrs. Bennett’s Class) to write winter stories. I"ll send home a
