October

Welcome to Mrs. O'Hare's Kindergarten

November

November is always the fastest month of school because we have so many days off! It is also a big assessment month as we prepare for Parent/Teacher conferences in the middle of the month.  We also learn about the holidays of Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.

We continue to learn how to write our lowercase letters and sounds. So far we have covered the following letters; t, b, f, n, m, c, a, r, i, g, o, d, s, e, u, l, h, k, p and j. In order to get a "WOW" on your papers you need to write your name correctly with both uppercase and lowercase letters.  The sight words that have been introduced thus far are: I, can, we, the, am, a, to, like, and in.

In mathematics we have been learning how to write our numbers the correct way. We have also been discussing "ordinal numbers" 1st - 5th . We will have our Chapter Three math test on November 17th. Please be sure to sign and then return the math tests. They are kept in your child's portfolio. Students should continue to practice counting. See if your child can count to 50! They also need to be able to recognize numerals 1-20.

We have been trying our best to keep our classroom germ free. The children now wash their hands with Purell as they enter. We also are wiping down the tables more frequently. We could use some more Clorox disinfecting wipes if you would be so kind to donate them.   Thank you for supporting your child by reviewing their work daily and praising their efforts.

           Fondly,

      Mrs. O'Hare
