Welcome to Mrs. O'Hare's Kindergarten Welcome to Kindergarten! We are going to have so much fun learning together! June June has arrived and soon we will be saying goodbye. It has been a pleasure teaching your children this year. We were lucky to have such a wonderful student teacher. I truly believe we were lucky to be combined with Mrs. Cardullo’s class and experience her expertise and different style of teaching. It was also wonderful to have 33 classmates and make new friends! Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers: Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Gravel, Mrs. Swanson and Mrs. Hopkins. We will conclude the year by finishing up our Fundations program. The children should now know all of their letter “stories” and how to form all of the letters correctly. The children know many sight words and need to continue to practice them over the summer in preparation for first grade. Our last unit in math will deal with addition and subtraction problems. The children need to be able to count to 100 by ones, fives and tens and should be able to count by twos to 20. The students should also be able to form their numbers correctly without reversals. We will enjoy a school wide Field Day at Woody Lowden on June 7th. This should be a fun outing for all. Please make sure your child has sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle. Thank you for the many donations that you have made throughout the year. We are in need of Kleenex, Clorox wipes and saltines at this time. Please also know that the children may not go on the playground equipment if they are wearing sandals (sneakers only). It is also nice to give the kids a water bottle with a “sports top” to keep at their table when the classroom is warm. Sincerely, Mrs. O'Hare
