Everything I know I Learned In Kindergarten
February |
|
Welcome to Mrs. O'Hare's Kindergarten February Have I told you lately how much I adore your children? Well I do and they are so smart!!! January was a month full of assessments and as I prepared their reports cards I was so proud of how well they have all done. Just about the whole class is reading at or above grade level. Thank you to the families for supporting their learning with home practice of letters, sounds and numbers. February is always a fast month because it is so much fun! We celebrate Groundhog's Day, The 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day and President's Day. We also have more than a week off of school. The sight words that we have covered thus far are I, can, we, the, am, a, to, like, in, you, is, on, no, yes, go, me, see, and, and it. We have also been reviewing the color words. Keep practicing them at home. We will continue to learn the proper formation of capital letters while reviewing lowercase. In mathematics we completed our geometry unit and have now moved on to measurement. We will cover topics such as; comparing by size, length, and weight. We will measure length, discuss capacity and temperature. Keep counting and practice writing those numbers to 20. Thank you for your many donations of classroom supplies. We are running low on saltines and always need Clorox wipes. Sincerely, Mrs. O'Hare
