Below is a list of questions to engage your child in a discussion of the story. This is a great way to practice comprehension skills and have them make connections to his/her own experiences.
Who are the characters?
What is the setting of the story? Where does the story take place?
What is the problem in the story? How was it solved?
Retell the story. What happened in the beginning? The middle? The end?
What was your favorite part? Why?
What did the story remind you of?
Were you surprised by anything in the book?
