Regents English 11
The eleventh grade course in English is primarily a study of American literature from colonial times to the present. The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the major authors and themes in American literature and to help them gain a deeper understanding of the country we call "America." The writing curriculum focuses on both literary analysis and proper development of the "thesis" paper. All students at the eleventh grade will take the New York State Comprehensive Examination in English in June of 2009.
