CHS Track & Field Lettering Qualifications

Girls

 

  1. Qualify for the State Meet.

 

  1. Place 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5th in a Regional Meet.

 

  1. Place 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6th at a varsity meet with 10 or more teams.

 

  1. Earn 8 points in a dual meet or 6 points in a varsity meet with 4 or more teams participating.

 

  1. Earn 15 points for the entire season.

 

  1. Varsity member of a 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, or 4 x 800 relay team placing 1st or 2nd in a meet with 4 or more teams participating.

 

  1. Full point value awarded to each member of a varsity relay team placing. * Relay member must be a member of a relay for at least 3 meets.

 

  1. A letter may be earned by meeting the following minimum times and distances in a varsity meet. *Relay members must a member of a relay for at least 3 meets.

  1. A special senior letter may be awarded to an athlete who has shown multiple years of dedicated competition as a member of the Cougar track & field team.

 

The letter award will be withheld for the following infractions:

  1. Violation of Coronado High School Athletic/Participation Rules and Track Expectations.
  2. Unexcused absences from practice.
  3. Improper conduct while on trips and/or dress code violations.
  4. Quitting before the end of the season.
  5. Unexcused scratches from events entered.
