Welcome to our fifth grade website. The purpose of this site is to keep you informed about what is happening in the school and our classroom. This home page will be used to make announcements that are not listed on the monthly calendar. Please see the classroom news page for information about calendar events and for curriculum notes.

• Don't forget the camp meeting for parents to be held in Haney Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9.
• The second floor won the Super Cereal Bowl! Their reward is an extra casual day to be held on Valentine's Day. This casual day is only for students in grades 4-8.
• We will enjoy a Valentine's Day party in our classroom on February 14. It is not mandatory that students exchange Valentine's, but if your child chooses to do so, they must have a card for every member of the class. A class list can be found in this year's student directory. Students should bring their own beverage for the party. It must be in a container that has a screw cap. It should be NO larger than 16-20 ounces. Students will be allowed to share treats, too.
• We will be starting the Family Life program this week. If your child has not submitted the permission form, they will not be allowed to participate in these classes.  A special parent guide will be sent home with your child on TUESDAY--please ask your son/daughter for it.  A separate informational sheet about the material we will cover on Friday will also be placed in your guide. Friday's lesson will include the human reproductive systems of both males and females.
• Remember that students will go outside for lunch recess unless it is raining or bitterly cold. They should be dressed accordingly. Also, when we do have indoor recess on Wednesdays and Fridays, fifth graders will be able to use the activity center if enough of them have gym shoes.
