Final Copy of Essay Due Date
We finished editing today! The students worked very hard and very well with myself and their revision/editing buddy. I am pleased with their first writing project of the year. Please read the publishing directions on the Study Guides and Project Description page. Final copies are due Friday, November 13!
Extra Credit Opportunity Create a multiplication rhyme for a "toughie" and illustrate it on a piece of 11x8 1/2 paper. You can use the "toughies" you will be quizzed on or choose a fact you think is tough. Color it! Spell well! Get the product correct! Turn it in by Monday. Receive up to 5% extra credit in math for second quarter.
Example: 1 x 3 caught a bee, 1 x 3 is three. The illustration would show the numbers 1 and 3 catching a bee.
First Reconciliation A letter was sent home today explaining the preparation procedure for First Reconciliation. Please return the bottom portion by Monday, November 9. There is a meeting for parents of fourth grade students participating in their First Reconciliation on Monday, November 16 at 7pm. It is important that you attend.

H1N1 Flu The best way to combat this flu is to prevent it from spreading. Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently and to cover their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing. Proper use and disposal of tissues is also helpful in preventing the spread of this virus. Sick children should not be sent to school and should remain at home until healthy.
