I decided to write a poem to tell you a little more about myself.

Where I’m From

I am from Upland, California- the base of Mount Baldy overlooking reality. I am from Carol and Bob, two very different people with one focus in their life together. I am from a small home full of warmth and love with little room for disappointment.

The Friday evening scene of sleeping bags, pillows, and children racing from house to house. The Saturday morning three wheel races and pool side fun. The Sunday morning church trips and preparation for the week. And the weeklong carpools, library visits, and bedside stories.

I am from celebration of special events or just gathering of loved ones. Sharing homemade ice cream, pork chops, and yummm... Grandma’s dumplings. I am from sandwiches at the beach and road trips to South Dakota.

I am the Big Sister- always wanting to protect and shelter Timmy. I am Kris’ little sister held on a pedestal too high to see the ground. I am from tons of good job, we love you, and we’re proud of you.

I am from the late nights at the baseball and football fields and early mornings at the soccer field. I am from the blue tent we spent countless nights under the stars in and the brown Honda we all learned to drive in. I am from Sierra Vista Elementary, Upland Jr. High and High School, Long Beach State, Semester at Sea, and Chapman Graduate School.

I am from the best day of my life, August 10, 2007 and marrying my best friend.

I am from those moments, past and present which have molded me. I am from a lifetime too full to condense into one poem because I am very blessed.
