Mrs. Whitehead’s Mission Statement

Students will arrive eager and excited to start a new day of learning.  They will walk onto the Birney campus and feel a sense of security and safety.  When they enter room 17 they will know that all of their needs will be met and they will feel a sense of challenge and high expectation that they are confident in meeting.  Students will have strong interpersonal relationships among each other, and they will know that each of us is here to support and encourage one another.

Parents will feel open and welcome in room 17, knowing their child is deeply loved and their opinion matters to the teacher.  Parents will see their child’s joy of learning and will want to nurture it by participating with them in their learning process.  Parents will spend time talking with their child about the importance of school and their day.

Students will leave room 17 feeling excited and ready for 1^st grade.  They will know a strong foundation has been built and they will stand confidently upon it.
