MCAS Math
Third graders will be taking the MCAS test in math on May 12 and 14. You can help prepare your child at home by practicing math facts, particularly multiplication. Extra practice and review for many math concepts, such as: fractions, money, time, addition, subtraction, and multiplication, can be found on this website. Making sure your child has a good night's rest and eats a healthy breakfast are two other ways you can help you child do their best on this important test. Thank you for all your support at home! These last two months of school are full of adventures! Our PTO will be sending us on two more wonderful trips this year. Thank you PTO! On May 13 we will be traveling to the Cape Cod Canal. It is a special chance to explore an important feature of Cape Cod . Visit the CapeCod Canal website to learn about its interesting history. Third and fourth graders will travel to Barnstable High to see the Cape Cod Symphony perform on May 5. This is a half day trip. Thank you Cobb Fund. There is also a whale watch trip on June 4. No raindate. We will depart from Barnstable Harbor on a Hyannis Whale Watch boat. All of these field trips enhance our social studies and science units about our very own Cape Cod. More information and permission slips will be coming home as the dates approach for the various trips.
