VISA Card Information for 2011 - 2012
|
|
Vitally Important Scholastic Award Policy for 2011 – 2012 VISA cards can be used in the following ways: - 3 VISA cards = 1 dropped daily grade (You may drop only two daily grades a six-weeks.)
- 6 VISA cards = 1 dropped quiz grade (You may drop only one quiz grade a six-weeks.)
- 3 VISA cards = 10 points added to a test grade
- 6 VISA cards = 20 points added to a test grade (Points can be added to only ONE test grade per six-weeks and a maximum of 20 points can be added to this test grade.)
Students begin each six-weeks with 8 VISA cards (on paper only) BUT they will lose one VISA card for the following reasons: - Late assignments
- Work not written in blue or black ink
- Work not written on notebook paper
- Work turned in without first AND last name
- Getting replacement copies of material given in class
- Inappropriate behavior in class – this include excessive talking but can include any behavior that distracts from the learning process
- Borrowing supplies from another student ***Loss of 2 VISA cards***
Students are expected to bring their own supplies to class BUT if they need a pen or notebook paper, then they should "buy" some from me. It takes one VISA card to purchase three sheets of paper and one VISA card to borrow a pen from me for a class period. This is cheaper than borrowing supplies from a classmate. - Not bringing the book to class that we’re reading together
Students will lose two VISA cards for the following reasons: - Using someone else’s book (This is for the 1st offense; the 2nd offense will be the loss of two VISA cards plus two days detention. The 3rd offense will result in an office referral.)
- Leaving the bathroom during the class period
- Earning less than 7 AR points for a grading period.
If students lose all of their passes and continue breaking class rules, they may receive one of the following: detention, office referral, or parent phone call.
