Mrs. Stluka's VISA Cards
 (Don't Leave Class Without Them!)

VISA cards can be used in the following ways:

3 VISA cards = 1 dropped daily grade
6 VISA cards = 1 dropped quiz grade
3 VISA cards = 10 points added to a test grade
6 VISA cards = 20 points added to a test grade

NOTE: Bonus points cannot be added to semester test grades and bonus points can be added to only two test grades (with a max of 20 points added per test) each six-weeks. Also, no more than two daily grades can be dropped a six-weeks and only one quiz grade may be dropped during a six-weeks.

Students begin the six-weeks with eight VISA cards (on paper only) BUT they will lose one VISA card - for the following reasons:

Late assignment
Work not written using blue or black ink
Work not written on notebook paper
Borrowing supplies
Not having proper book in class
Assignments not having student's first and last name
Leaving the classroom during the class period ***2 passes***
(If a student must leave the class to go to the bathroom and has already used all of his        passes, then the student will receive detention. It is important for students to visit the          nurse, go to the bathroom, get water, etc between classes rather than during classes)
Inappropriate behavior in class
(This includes excessive talking but can include any behavior that distracts from the   learning process.)

A student can lose more than one VISA card on an assignment. For example, if any essay is turned in to me on spiral paper, without a name and the student wrote in pencil, he (or she) would lose three VISA cards. Consequently, it is important for students to learn the classroom rules and then follow them. VISA cards are very handy - you want to earn as many as possible!
