Late Policy

Students will have 20 points deducted for the first day that an assignment is late and 10 additional points will be deducted for each day thereafter. (Example: If a student earns an 85 on an assignment but it was turned in two days late, then the student would receive a grade of 55.)

Some assignments cannot be turned in late. For example, if a student is absent on the day that AR is due, then he is not allowed to earn points past the due date. Since students are given six-weeks to earn their points, they all should have their points earned before the week of the deadline. Students who wait until the last minute are gambling. As anyone who’s been to Las Vegas can attest, if you gamble, you can lose … big time!

All assignments are due at the very beginning of class. Any assignment turned in after this time (even if it was complete and the student just could not find it) is considered late and a penalty will be assessed. Students should always place their homework in a specific place in their expandable folders, binders, or backpack so that looking for homework won’t be a problem.
