***New TEKS for 2009-2010*** The Texas Education Agency has revised the TEKS (information that is to be taught/learned during the school year). You can trust that the ELA teachers at Shiner ISD are reviewing the new TEKS closely and will be making adjustments to their lessons. When you have time, you may want to check out this site so you can see WHY we cover what we cover and why standards are high. As always, feel free to contact me if you have questions about a specific TEK. If I don't know the answer, I will research it for you. http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/rules/tac/chapter110/ch110b.html This site is SO COOL! While you practice vocabulary, you can send grains of rice to those in need. Try it out. The words are challenging but you can learn while you improve our world. Let me know what you think about it! http://freerice.com/ Quotations http://www.quotationspage.com/

Anti-plagiarism Site http://www.2learn.ca/mapset/SafetyNet/plagiarism/plagiarism.html Want to extra help with grammar? I just discovered this site and think that you'll enjoy the opportunity to complete practice exercises and then get immediate feedback. Good luck! http://www.englishgrammar101.com/Lessons/Default.aspx This page was recommended to me by Mrs. Jill Kalich. Students can answer a few simple questions and a recommended book list will be prepared. Of course, this list must then be compared to the AR list. Still, it's a great resource! Thanks, Mrs. Kalich! http://www.bookadventure.org/ki/bs/ki_bs_helpfind.asp
