Welcome Back Holy Name Students and Families,

I would just like to send a brief update at this time to let you know that my updated H1N1 informational letter is being sent home with all students.  Please look for that and as usual please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns. I will continue to add updates as needed on all school health issues. I have links below for parents needing additional information as this time.  For all students requiring medications this school year please download the appropriate forms required. New forms are required each school year. I would also like to touch base individually with any parents of students with specific health care needs. Also please continue to use the following safeguards so that we may keep our school community healthy at a time when influenza is a concern to all of us.

-         Teach your children to wash their hands often.  Washing with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds is ideal (that’s about as long as it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice).

-         Teach your children the proper use of hand sanitizer. Gels, rubs, and hand wipes all work well, as long as they contain at least 60% alcohol.  Hand wipes must be disposed of properly.  Always read and follow label instructions when using hand sanitizer. 

-         Teach your children to keep their hands away from their face and avoid touching their mouth, nose, or eyes.

-         Teach your children to cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or by coughing into the inside of their elbow.  Cough or sneeze into your sleeve—not your hands!
