Science Mysteries
Science Mysteries

In the early part of the semester we will be playing the role of a medical investigator tracking down the causes of mysterious outbreaks of disease around the world.

Our first mystery to solve is called the Blackout Syndrome and can be found at: http://www.accessexcellence.org/AE/mspot/tbs/

As a medical investigator, I'd like you to take notes.  The purpose of the notes is to record any observations that you make that support your hypotheses about various aspects of the case.

The general thinking routine involves you first collecting information on what is going on.  You will then collect evidence from which you will draw a conclusion about the nature of the disease, how it is spread and what pathogen is involved.

Please download the template from the link you'll find at the bottom of this page.

After you are finished with your notes, see me for your next medical investigation.  You'll find the other mysteries at:

  1. Access Excellence Mystery Spot
  2. MedMyst:  Medical Mysteries on the Web
