Welcome to Room 4-11 Hello, my name is Miss Milano and I will be the 4th Grade Math Teacher. In the upcoming school year our 4th grade math students will continue to use their basic computation skills and will also be working with fractions, decimals, algebra and geometry along with word problem skills. Everything they have learned in the first three grades will be used as a springboard for more in-depth work. That doesn't mean that they won't enjoy Math class! I like to use a variety of approaches when teaching Mathematics, which means lots of fun hands-on activities, cooperative learning, and making connections using skills that have familiarity and comfort. They will hear me tell them to use "common sense" when trying to figure out a computation or word problem because Math is based on logic and common sense ! Students will also be introduced to several new Math Terms throughout the year, which I will encourage them to use each day in class. I expect every student to come into Math class prepared with their textbook, workbook, sharpened pencils and most of all their imaginations!!! I'm looking forward to an exciting and educational year!
