Meet Miss McCarthy

Hi!  I’m Miss McCarthy and I would like to welcome you to First Grade!!!  This is going to be a fantastic year and I am thrilled to share it with you.  I am very excited about having the opportunity to teach First Grade at Oak Creek this year!

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher.  I believe that education is the key to success for young students.  The simple joys of learning are at the heart of why I chose to teach: seeing the pride in your childs eyes as they develop independence, helping them to learn to work cooperatively and develop friendships, teaching them about the power of the written word and the magic of their imaginations. These are the joys that I aim to share with your child this year!

When I’m not working, I enjoy running, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

•          Born and raised in Orange County, CA

•          I live in Irvine

•          Two sister Leigh and Caroline - We’re Triplets!

•          A  product of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District

•          Alumni of Santa Margarita High School

•          Graduated from The University of Arizona, with a BA in Elementary Education – Go Wildcats!

•          CLAD Credential Program from University of San Diego

•          Currently working on my masters in ed. at Cal State Fullerton

•        I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, writing, traveling, watching football and basketball, going to the beach and shopping!!!
