I am so excited that our school district has adopted Scott Foresman as our new social studies publisher! Scott Foresman is one of the first publishers to incorporate technology into each lesson. This will be a refreshing new way to present these social studies concepts to our first graders! The program will encourage the development of social skills and responsibilities. Students will build on the knowledge they have of their environment and expand that knowledge beginning with our first unit of Citizenship. From there we will move on to other units of Family, Community, Economics, Country, and the World. 
You now have access to all of the Scott Foresman Social Studies tools that we use in the classroom! Go to http://www.ca-hss.com/sf/client/login/login.html. Login Name: jmccarth Login Password: password Use your log-in information (case-sensitive) to enter the website. Once there, click on the EXPLORE tab to the left. You will be able to view the following information for each Lesson in each Unit: · Video Introduction (sets up the lesson) · Vocabulary (practice!!!) · Video (great as a review for tests!) · Student Text (use to preview or review!) · Interactive Practice (like a video game) · Content Reader (mini book on the subject) · Unit Song (catchy - a big hit with the kids!)
