Houghton Mifflin is the math series we use in first grade. This is a program that focuses on the use of manipulatives, thinking strategies, and oral/written communication to solve math problems.  
    Skills introduced this year will include counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s, counting and writing numbers to 100, and addition/subtraction facts to 20. Odd and even numbers, telling time to the hour and half hour, money, measurement, data collection, geometry, fractions, and estimation will also be introduced.
