Check-Out Policy

One library book checked out at a time (some exceptions apply).

Books should be returned in a timely manner.  If a book is missing,

A new book can be taken out of the library while searching for the old book.

Any “accidents” (rips, spills, etc.), please return book to Mrs. O’Brien for evaluation. 

Please do not hesitate to call regarding any book issues. 

Lost books will be paid for once a significant search period has passed and I will be happy to refund any payment made for a lost book should the book be found while the child is still attending Meadow Brook and if the book is in good condition. 

Clarification makes for less confusion and computer errors can sometimes occur.

Green is the color of the “library reminders” and they come in a variety of sizes.

You will see ¼ sheet size reminders that are for the students that really want to remember their books but the book is not overdue. 

½ sheet sized reminders are for overdue books.  Sometimes this reminder will come with a new book that the student gets to enjoy while looking for the overdue book.

The library policy for overdue books is “please enjoy another book while looking for the overdue book”.

Library books always want to come back, so there is no payment request until a significant amount of time has passed and we clearly determine that the lost book will not turn up.
