Time Management and Responsibility

Two major goals of 6th grade are to instill effective time management practices and develop organizational skills in order to prepare them for middle school next year. Please support your student by examining their planner until they have established success and the ability to be independent in these areas. If your child forgets something at home, please do not bring it to the classroom and disrupt learning. If it must be dropped off, leave it at the office and they will forward it to the room. Classroom Standards: · All students are responsible for filling out their student planner and placing all necessary materials in their backpack. · Assignments without proper heading (First and Last Name, ID #, date, subject, and assignment) receive a 5% deduction. · Assignment without names receive NO CREDIT · All assignments are completed in pencil or are word processed (no pen). · If a student fails to complete a homework assignment, they may complete it during recess and turn it into the late bin by the end of the day for a 10% deduction. Those not turned in by the end of the day receive NO CREDIT. · All work is collected, corrected, and returned as quickly as possible. Test will be sent home for parent signature. Please return them next day in the Thursday folder. · Reading logs are due every Friday, completely filled out (including a parent signature).
