Paine Panthers ROAR!

  Hard to believe that it is February, and we have had a (so far) mild winter.  What a difference from last year!  Even though we have six more weeks of winter ahead, it is hard to imagine that spring is not just a moment away.  The first bluebirds of the season have already been spotted, and red-winged blackbirds are making their way back.

  As the Speech-Language Pathologist, I am in the process of rescreening Kindergarten students for speech and language.  If you have a specific concern, please contact me.

I'd like to encourage you to continue to help facilitate your child's language development by talking with them and including them in conversations.  The more language your child hears and is involved with, the more his/her language will grow.  

In elementary school, children often lose teeth and have some temporary problems with how they speak because of this.  If you notice that your child is having difficulty please feel free to contact me.  A child's speech and language ability often impacts their overall learning and lifelong language. 

The economy still presents a challenge to many families.  As the School Social Worker, I am always available to answer your questions, or help find the answers when I cannot.  There are numerous programs available to help with food, heating and housing issues.  Because of budget issues, many of these programs have changed their criteria to qualify.  I am available to help you through the application process and hopefully get you in the right direction.
