Field Day is the culminating event of our Track & Field unit. All students 1st thru 5th grade pick one (1) running event and one (1) field event to participate in (events are listed below). 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes also participate in the chariot race and the boys and girls 300m relays. Each grade level is scheduled an hour to compete. Event schedules and times are sent home a few weeks prior to Field Day. Running events are done first and then the field events take place simultaneously - at various sites in our gymnasium and out on the field. All students are encouraged to have fun, try their best and to show good sportsmanship!! All participants receive a "Red Mill Field Day" ribbon, and a red, white or blue ribbon for competing in an event. KINDERGARTEN FIELD DAY Kindergarten Field Day consists of events that take place in the upstairs gymnasium as well as outside on the Red Mill Track for our kindergarten students. Competition begins in the upper gym with different classes demonstrating our warm-ups routine, jump ropes, and a folk dance. The "Quiet Bubble" and "Lineup Drill" are the final two (2) events taking place in the gymnasium -with classes competing against one another for these two events. Field day finishes outside on our Red Mill Track with the 300 meter run and the 50 meter run. Immediately after the 50 meter run the students are given a red, white and blue ribbon for participation. All students are encouraged to work hard, try their best and have fun!!
