Periodicity Periodicity

Periodic Law = chemical and physical properties vary according to atomic number

group = also known as a family = column of elements in the periodic table that all have similar properties like electron configuration, reactitvity, melting point, density

Period = also know as a principal quantum number = a row of the periodic table

electronegativity = the relative attraction of an atom for a shared pair of electrons

density = a physical property of matter that illustrates a relationship of mass and volume

ionization energy = the energy required to remove an electron from an atom

Atomic radius = the distance from the center of an atom to the probable surface of the electron cloud (orbital)
