H1N1 Paine School Vaccination Clinic Information Date: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 4:00-8:00 p.m. Recommended arrival times to avoid long lines: Last names A through E: 4:00-5:00 Last names F through M: 5:00-6:00 Last names N through Z: 6:00-7:00 * Enough vaccine will be available for all students! Consent forms will be available at the clinic for walk-ins (Paine School students & elementary age home-schooled Foster residents only) *feel free to call Ms. Soscia, RN with any questions! 2009 H1N1 Influenza Information: (see the sub pages and Resources page on my website for more information!) Home-schooled children must attend the school in their district their child would attend. If your child is home-schooled, please call the school to confirm your child is on the school roster! Students living in Foster but are attending Private/Parochial schools must attend the vacination clinic in the school they are attending. 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Information and Consent Forms have been mailed directly to families of RI schoolchildren by the RI Department of Health. You should have received this information by now. If you did not receive this information or if you need another consent form you can get one at school or you can access the packet at: http://www.health.ri.gov/news/H1N1Advisories/H1N1SchoolVaccinationConsentMaterials.pdf Please return the consent form to the school as soon as possible. The 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine clinic is scheduled to be held at Paine School on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., but that date could change depending upon the availability of vaccine, etc. We will inform you as soon as we know for sure. ------------------------------------------------------ H1N1 flu vaccine safety If you have any concerns about the safety of this vaccine, the RI Dept. of Health has created a set of frequently asked questions and answers related to H1N1 flu vaccine safety,which are posted on their website at http://www.health.ri.gov/news/H1N1Advisories/H1N1FluVaccineSafety.pdf To view questions and answers about H1N1 flu vaccine safety from the CDC, please see http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/vaccine_safety_qa.htm ---------------------------------------------------- Please feel free to call me at 647-5100 if you have any questions or concerns. FYI, children under 10 years old (as of the date of the 1st vaccine) will need 2 doses of the H1N1 vaccine for adequate immunity. There will be another flu vaccine clinic at Paine school sometime in January for those students to receive their 2nd dose. More details will be available at a later date.
