  • Please be advised we will be going on these trips rain or shine so we need to dress for the weather.  Please wear sneakers (no flip flops) as we will be walking alot on these trips.    Please pack a lunch in a bag with a handle that is easy for your child to carry.  No glass bottles will be permitted on these trips.

  • 1st Grade Homework

  • Read 20 minutes log - parents please initial planner
  • Word Work - Each week we will learn new words which will be written in our daily planner as the words of the week.  Your child is to complete the following assignments using the words and it is to be done in their Word Work Notebook.
  • Monday – Look, say, cover, write, check sight words.
  • Tuesday – Rainbow writing – use different color crayons to trace over our weekly sight words.
  • Wednesday – Sentences:  Choose 3-5 sight words. Use one word in each sentence.  Say word.
  • Thursday – Word Hunt:  Find weekly sight words (or sort words) from just-right books.  Write the words in your word work notebook.
  • Friday – Review all sight words introduced.

Tests

Please sign, review and return the Math tests. Please do not write on them. If you wish to make corrections, please do so on a separate piece of paper.

Birthdays

Your child is more than welcome to celebrate their birthday in school. Please send in cupcakes, donuts or brownies and we will celebrate the last 25 minutes of the school day. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN CAKE, ICE CREAM OR BALLOONS.

Homework:

Homework will be assigned each evening. Please sign and review daily. Read with your child for at least 20 minutes each evening and record in the reading log.Please look at the letter on the top of your child's book for their independent reading levels.

Please sign and check your child's planner each evening to stay up to date on homework and class news.
