Attention All Students:  Summer Reading is a requirement and assessments will be part of your first quarter grade!!  Go to booklist icon.

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: Deadline is December 11, 2009

• Service Hours for graduation project should either be completed or near completion
• Make sure time sheet is accurate and obtain signature of your supervisor
• Start writing your journal, if you did not make entries on the same day as your service, before the memories fade!!!
• Start your reflection paper and power point (or poster)!
• Add photos to personalize your presentation!
• Adhere to all due dates - they arrive very quickly!
• Submit all work to assigned mentor, who will approve work, and provide it to panel for review

ATTENTION TO JUNIORS:

• Make a decision as to where you'd like to complete your service hours
• Prepare your proposal and submit for approval by deadline, so twenty-five (25) hours could be completed over the summer
• Complete journal entries on same day of each volunteer session
• Take photos, if possible, to use for your poster or power point

The Right to Education Task Force holds monthly meetings for parents and providers.  This month's meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children (formerly SSSD).  This meeting will be held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the community room. 

The primary purpose of the Local Task Force is to make recommendations that assist in improving, strengthening and expanding services and programs for school age children with disabilities. 

Meetings usually take place on the second Tuesday of every month, September through June.  For the most part, they begin with a discussion of monthly business and provider reports, followed by a guest speaker on a topic of interest.  

Each month, your child receives written notification of upcoming meetings.  I will continue to post updated information as it becomes available. 

2009 - 2010 meeting dates (7:00pm to 9:00pm) are as follows:

December 8th at SSDHHC

January 12th at SSDHHC

February 9th at SSDHHC

March 9th at SSDHHC

April 13th at Lackawanna Trail (Tentative)

May 11th at SSDHHC

June 8th at SSDHHC
