Attention All Students:  Summer Reading is a requirement and assessments will be part of your first quarter grade!!  Go to booklist icon for complete list of approved books. 

Summarize as you read - notes and book are allowed for testing!

Two books = Two test scores  (Chapter summaries will count as 50% of your grade).

SENIORS: DEADLINE FOR COMPLETION OF SENIOR PROJECT HOURS/JOURNAL/REFLECTION PAPER:  is December *, 2012.  Make sure time sheet is accurate, including signature of your supervisor.

  • Write journal entries on the day of your service, include all details while they are fresh in your mind.
  • Start your reflection paper and power point!
  • Add photos to personalize your presentation!
  • Adhere to all due dates - they arrive very quickly!
  • Submit all work to assigned mentor, who will review work, and forward to panel for approval

ATTENTION TO JUNIORS:

  • Make a decision as to where you'd like to complete your service hours
  • Prepare your proposal and submit for approval by deadline
  • (PROPOSALS PRIOR TO VACATION MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MAY ** 2012; OTHERWISE, PROPOSALS ARE TO BE HANDED IN BY SEPTEMBER ** 2012.  VOLUNTEER HOURS CANNOT BEGIN UNTIL PROPOSAL IS APPROVED!!!!)
  • Journal and reflection paper are due on or before 12/**/12!Twenty-five (25) volunteer hours must be completed and journal entries should be completed on same day as service so experience details are fresh in your memory
  • Take photos, if possible, to use for your power point
  • Make sure time sheet is filled in and signed/dated by supervisor to confirm hours
  • Complete reflection paper
  • Complete power point
  • Practice presentation and be aware of rubric for final grading

The Right to Education Task Force holds monthly meetings for parents and providers.  This month's meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, *******.  The meeting will be held at..............from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

The primary purpose of the Local Task Force is to make recommendations that assist in improving, strengthening and expanding services and programs for school age children with disabilities.  Parents of special education students are the mainstay of the local task force, which is required to have 51% parent-consumer membership.  In addition to the local IU, the ARC, County MH/MR Offices and local school districts, agencies that provide services to children with special needs and concerned citizens are strongly encouraged to join the local task force.

The Local Task Force meets on the second Tuesday of every month, September through June.  All meetings are open to the public, beginning with a discussion of monthly business and provider reports, followed by a guest speaker. 

Each month, your child receives written notification of upcoming meetings.
