Dear Students and Families,
Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a happy restful winter break. This month we are starting off in high gear. We are jumping right back in to our regular routines in Reading, Writing, and Math. This month your child will be given the second portion of the FAIR test. This will give us a good view of how your child has progressed in his/her Reading
skills. Also this month you will see students learning 1-2 sight words a week. Please practice new and old sight words daily. Learning sight words is a key ingredient to helping your child read. We will also be exploring more word families, starting with short i families: -it, -ig,-ip, & -in. You can help by having your child make flash cards of these word families and quiz them on the words. As always I am available for conferences or quick chats.
