| Below are the sight words that are introduced during our first grade year. Also included are the kindergarten sight words. We tell the students that sight words are words that they should know in a "snap". They are common words that usually cannot be sounded out. New words are introduced on a weekly basis after all the kindergarten words are reviewed. The sight words will become the students spelling words once we start weekly spelling at the beginning of the second quarter.
