Mrs. Marguerite Laniok's ELA Awareness With all the love during the holidays, I wish to thank all of you, both 5th graders, and 6th graders, for the generous gifts received the lasts days before vacation. I never was in a school that is so generous. Welcome to 5th and 6th grade ELA. I teach 5th grade english and 6th grade reading, english, spelling and vocabulary. In order to find out what is happening in this area please look at all the items in the Navigation Bar on the left. What is original about me, is that I try various techniques to make our students enjoy learning. I feel a sense of humor works very well. Fifth grade does composition writing that prepares them for the NY State ELA tests in April, their 6th grade year. Sixth grade, I try to do some unique writing to keep them entertained and how to make writing a joy not a chore. Grammar is very important to me. We have a country of poorly speaking Americans. By teaching our students to speak correctly and write correctly, they will be good students. They will learn to diagam sentences, because this is the way to teach them to speak and write correctly.
