Welcome to Mrs. Herrmann's Class 1st quarter 2010-11 I am teaching: World history: In this quarter long class student will study history from the dawn of recorded civilization through the 1500’s. This course is designed to encourage the student to read, think, discuss, and write about ancient civilizations and the people, ideas, and events that shaped them. Geography, timeline work, and art appreciation, including architecture, will be incorporated into the study of each civilization and time period. Learning lab: a self-paced course that students will work independently in classes that they need. The typical lab is worth ½ credit. This is an opportunity for the students to work at an accelerated pace and pick up lost credits. All labs must be passed with a grade of 75% or higher. To the Celts, the tree was a source of basic sustenance- a bearer of food, a provider of shelter and fuel for cooking and warmth. Without trees, life would have been extraordinarily difficult.
