This form will be used for participants to vote for the best newspaper. These mock newspapers are the Journalism I class project.
Here are a couple of things you may want to use as judging criteria:
1. Does each page have one story and picture that is more predominate than the rest?
2. Are all pictures easy to see (not too light or dark) and do they draw interest to the story? Do they match the story?
3. Do the pages look modular? Do they all have a "block like look"? Even pages with specialty art must have some sort of modular design to them.
4. Are the folios for each page the same? The folio is the information at the top of each page besides the front cover. Look to see if all circles with page numbers are in the same location and look the same.
5. Is the front cover creative and link to another story somewhere in the paper?
6. Do all photos have a byline(name of the person who took the photo) and a cutline (a description of what the photo is about)?
7. Do the stories have interesting information that has interest to high school students?
8. Are stories free of misspellings and grammatical errors?
