Reminders: Instruments and music to school Wednesday, March 17, 2010 for Instrumental Festival at Genet.  We regret that limited seating precludes our inviting families to this event.

Parents should check string binders Friday evening for messages from Mrs. Glennie. The first year of instruction is the time to support our players' hand and body positions and their time management skills. 

A very valuable academic skill can be learned best in 5th Grade: that is noticing ahead of time that practice minutes will be slim on busy calendar days.  The families who plan formally for extra practice minutes in advance of hectic stretches create a lifelong habit of success in all areas of life.

Please call any time for an extra lesson on a weekend.  And be sure to speak to Mrs. Glennie if there is something she can do to make your playing more fun! 

Please highlight on your District calendar the following evenings. Participation in these performances contribute toward each child's report card grade and most importantly are always very special lifetime memories.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009:  Bell Top Orchestra & Chorus Dress Rehearsal 2:30. Bring instruments to school in the morning.  Wear blue & white.

Monday, December 21, 2009:  Bell Top Orchestra, Band & Chorus Concert   Bring instruments to school in the morning so Mrs. Glennie can tune before.  Evening Dress:  Black pants, tights, skirts with white shirt.  Meet on stage ready to rehearse 6:15 PM.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010:  Districtwide String Festival - meet 5:30 at Columbia High School Music Department near auditorium for 7:00 performance.
