Classroom Resources

Harcourt is our reading series that will be used to teach the five components of reading.  There will be learning activities that will be used to make reading fun and challenging.  Online resources are listed in the  reading link at the bottom of this page to allow students to access reading materials at home.

Harcourt Math is our math series that will be used to teach the required Sunshine State Standard mathematic components for Kindergarten.  Harcourt math provides worksheets and hands-on manipulatives that create a concrete understanding of the specific math concept being instructed.

Social Studies will be taught weekly using literature to instruct an introduction to history and geography for Kindergarten.  This introduces children to non-fiction historical text using headlines, key facts and text to build a better understanding of how to read and effectively use non-fiction text as students learn about their world.

Scott-Foresman Science is the science program we will use in our class this year.  Students will use worksheets, hand-on manipulatives, and conduct experiments to create a real world understanding about life science, physical science, earth science, and the human body.  Online resources are listed in the science link at the bottom of this page to allow students to access science materials at home.
