School Bus Safety

The bus drivers from our busing company First Student will be visiting with Peter's Elementary to stress bus safety to all children.  During this time the students will watch a video on proper procedures for bus safety.  Additionally, student will be instructed on what to do incase of an emergency and all children will have the opportunity to practice bus evacuation drills with their bus driver.  Bus evacuation drills will be held Friday, September 25th in the morning and the bus safety assembly will be held for the entire school on Tuesday, October 6th.

VFW                               

The ladies axilery of the VFW will be in our school on Tuesday, November 11th.  They will be joining us for the morning in order to celebrate Veteran's Day.  The woman's orgainzation will be speaking to all kindergarten classes about the proper way to pledge to the flag.  Our children will also be taught the significance of saying the Pledge of Alligence and what the Pledge of Alligence means and represents.

Smokin' Joe's Got to Go

During this program all Peter's Elementary children will be taught the dangers of smoking.  Additionally, they learn what smoking will do to their body especially their lungs.  Students are taught what to do if pressured to smoke by a friend or family member.   

Slatington Elementary Band and Chours

The entire Peter's Elementary was treated to a holiday concert presented by the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at Slatington Elementary.  On Wednesday, December 10th we enjoyed wonderful music starting with the chours and ending with the band.  The chours sang popular songs from Polar Express and the band performed well known tunes such as "Jingle Bells."
