Fire Safety

On Friday, October 9th Peter's Elementary celebrated Fire Prevention Month.  Our children had the opportunity to visit with the local firefighters.  During the visitation our students learned:

* The importance of knowing their name and address

* Safety with matches, lighters, and candles

* Stop, Drop, and Roll                                                                       

* Knowing the floor plan of the house

* Being able to exit each room two different ways.

* Crawling on the floor under the smoke

* Checking the door with the back of their hand

Learning to Care                                   

Starting Wedneday, October 30th, Miss Angela Ramataur will be joining our class.  This program will run on a weekly basis from 12:50 - 1:20.  Throughout the duration of the program children will learn empathy and caring for others.  Additionally, students will learn about cooperation necessary within a family.  This program will run October through May.

Book Buddies                                         

Every Friday we will be visiting with Miss Carmody's second grade class.  In the beginning of the year, the 2nd graders will read stories to the kindergarteners; however, as the year progresses the kindergarteners will also be reading to the 2nd graders. During this time the children also play games and engage in other activities.
