Here's the Latest News From Room 300! There is No School on Wednesday, November 11 for Veteran's Day! In Math, we are continuing our unit on Patterns and Relations. This week, we are working on finding the core of a pattern and extending patterns. This is a fun time in Math! We are continuing our Math Facts Challenge, so study your Math facts at home. Some students have already passed the Addition and Subtraction Challenge! Everyone has an individual goal of knowing all of the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts! We have a review week in Reading this week. Everyone will be taking the Holistic Reading test. Spelling and Vocabulary tests will be on Friday this week. The list is not a new list for either subject, all the words are a review. We will be creating a flip chart in school to use at home to study the vocabulary words. They are worth a 5 point bonus on the Vocabulary test on Friday! In Writing, we'll be working with compound subjects and compound predicates. Writing multi-paragraphs is our next step in the writing process. We are working hard with writing! State capitals is our next topic in the Northeast region for Social Studies this week. The capitals test will be on Tuesday, November 17th for my class and Wednesday, November 18th for Mrs. Riley's class.
