Here are all the Band and Orchestra events for the 2009-2010 school year. All events are mandatory for the ensembles they apply to. For example, the orchestra is not required to attend all the football and basketball games, but would most certainly be welcome. An exception to this would be an orchestra student also playing in the pep band, they would be required to attend and perform at all basketball and football games.
Football games:
Students should be at JPII no later than 6 pm the evening of the game. We are usually finished by 10 pm, but the students are not dismissed until all equipment has been returned and stored in the Band Hall. Students will wear their band shirt at khaki shorts for the games.
Basketball games:
There are two games each night, girls at 6:30, boys at 8. Students will perform at both games. Dress is band shirt and jeans. We are usually done around 9:30, but the students are not dismissed until all equipment has been returned and stored in the Band Hall.
Concerts:
All concerts will begin promptly at 7 pm. Students should be in their seats in the band hall ready to play at 6 pm prior to the concert. Dress for all concerts is black shirt/pants/socks/shoes. Ties are optional for gentlemen, ladies may wear dresses or pants.
Graduation:
This is a band and orchestra event, all students are required to attend. We will start at 12 pm and be done at 5 pm. Students will wear uniforms with blazers.
