Dear Parents,
It was nice to visit with everyone on Conference Day. Thank you for taking the time to come to school and show your support of your child’s education. We are very proud of our little ones’ achievements, and we know you are also!
AUTHOR STUDY
The children had a great time this week reading Laura Numeroff’s books. We had fun voting on our favorite cookies and making some fun projects to go with the stories. We will be doing more author studies throughout the school year.
NEXT WEEK
We have a short, but busy week coming up. On Tuesday we have our school-wide Prayer & Share Day. You are invited to send in treats that morning – pumpkin muffins, cookies, fruit – and all the food will go to the school gymnasium. We will then attend the 9:00 Mass. Following Mass we will go to the gym to share some of the special treats. All leftovers that day are donated to Equinox to help make Thanksgiving special for those less fortunate.
On Wednesday we will have a dedication ceremony for the new building at school. After Thanksgiving, those classrooms will be home to a beautiful new art studio/classroom and the full-day 3-year-old class.
We are closed on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. We hope you and your families have a wonderful holiday.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Pre-K will have their Christmas concert on December 10 at 6:30 pm. The children may dress in “dressy” Christmas clothes. The concert usually lasts about 30 minutes.
SERVICE PROJECT
A reminder that we are participating in a project for the Advent season. We plan to meet at Barnes & Noble in Colonie Center on Saturday, December 5, at 9:30 am and do some shopping for Toys for Tots. We will deliver the toys to Hannoush Jewelers (upper level Colonie Center) and then meet at the food court for a treat. We hope it will be a meaningful experience for everyone who is able to participate.
ARRIVAL
Please try to have your child at school by 8:30 AM. If children arrive later than that they miss out on valuable play and social time. It is important that children develop a good routine in the morning so it helps the rest of the day run smoothly. Thanks for your help with this important matter.
WE WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Sincerely,
Mary Jo Belles & Kate Mulligan
