                  Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

When: Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:00AM

Where: Liberty Ridge Farm

Cost:  $8.00 per person due October 1st

We are very excited to take our first field trip as a class! Liberty Ridge Farm is a New-York State award-winning destination. We will enjoy the fresh air and learn all about a working farm! Our students will experience the Capital Region’s largest Cornfield maze, which will give them opportunities for learning and developing team-building and problem-solving skills. The fun continues when we stop by the Barnyard — the Raspberry Rotors and Pedal Carts help kids learn about human power, and a visit to Bee Keeper Tom in the Honey House introduces children to a bee community and shows them how honey is made. We will also attend a story-time session at Lil’ Farmersville. We will also play farmyard games to develop our motor skills and go on a trolley ride to pick out a pumpkin.

Each Pre-k child will need an adult to accompany them on our field trip.

We will meet at Liberty Ridge at 9:45AM near the main parking lot. The field trip is scheduled to last three hours and you are invited to bring your own picnic lunch to eat in the barn. We will dismiss from Liberty Ridge; children need not return to school that day.

Directions

From the South and West:
Exit 9 off of I-87 Clifton Park, east on Rte. 146 to Mechanicville. Bear left on Rte. 4 North. Follow into the Village of Stillwater; Hudson River will be on your right. Turn right at blinking light crossing over the Hudson River. 1 mile on right – Liberty Ridge Farm.

From the South and East:
I-90 to Rte. 787 North to Exit 9E Hoosick Street, 2nd light, left onto Rte. 40. Stay on Rte. 40 to the Schaghticoke Fairground. At traffic light turn left onto Stillwater Bridge Road. 3miles on left – Liberty Ridge Farm.

From the North:
Exit 13S off of I-87 to US-9 South. Left onto Rt-9P, right on to Lake Rd (CR-76) Stewart’s on corner, follow to end. Left on Hudson Ave (US-4), turn right at blinking light crossing over the Hudson River. 1 mile on right – Liberty Ridge Farm.
