Welcome to 7th Grade Science!! We have many exciting things in store for you this year!!  There will be many hands-on projects that will allow you to be creative while learning scientific concepts.

 

Extra Help

My extra help days will be Monday and Thursday.  Do not wait until the last minute if you do not understand something!

 

Textbooks

We will be using 4 books this year.  When we have finished learning the material in one, we will start a new book. Please have your textbook covered at all times.

 The Changing Atmosphere, Weather Patterns, Weather Fronts and Storms, Climate and Climate Change

 

Grading Scale

96-100 =A+ 

90-95=A              

86-89=B+ 

80-85=B                        

76-79=C+ 

70-75=C

60-69=D

Below 60=Problem

 

40% Tests

30% Labs

20% Quizzes

10% Homework


Homework:

Homework is expected to be handed in on time.  If accepted late, that assignment will only be given half credit.

 

Lab Report and Projects:

Lab reports and projects are expected to be handed in on time. A late lab report or project will lose 10 points for everyday that it is late

 

Classroom Rules and Expectations

  • Everyone is important and should be treated as such.
  • Follow directions the first time they are given.
  • Class begins at the bell, you should be prepared and in your seat.  Class ends with the teacher.
  • Bring books, notebooks, pens and pencils to class everyday.
  • Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking.
  • If you are late to class without a pass you will receive after school detention.
  • CELL PHONES: If cell phones are accessed during any test or quiz the phone will be taken away and handed into the Main Office.  You will then receive a “0” for that test or quiz.  If you violate this rule you will be required to hand in your cell phone at the beginning of each test or quiz for the remainder of the year.
