This year the Massapequa School District and Massapequa High School Science Research Club are sponsoring the 12th Annual Science Discovery Fair. All students in grades Kindergarten through 8 are welcome to participate in this event. The fair is open to individual and team projects (a maximum of 3 members for any team).

This fair provides students with a forum for developing and displaying ambitious long-term research projects that foster critical thinking skills and promotes the integration of Math, Science, and Technology. The fair is divided into two categories: 1) K - 4th grade is a non-competitive event where all students will receive recognition for their achievements, and 2) 5th – 8th grade is a competitive event in which awards will be given to the best research projects. Judges will consist of teachers and science research club members. Criteria used to judge projects can be viewed and downloaded from the “Judges Form” links below.

Dates of Importance:

- Online Registration Opens: November 23, 2009 
- Registration Deadline: December 23, 2009
- Discovery Fair: March 13, 2010 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Berner Middle School Cafeteria

- Awards Ceremony (Grades 5-8 only): March 13, 2010 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Berner Middle School Auditorium.
