Open webpage:  www.turnitin.com

Creating a user profile:

          Step 1          User type: student

                             Click next

          Step 2          Enter Class ID (number only)

                                    Soph. 1 ACE     2738099

                             Soph. 1 BDF     2738102

                             Soph. 3 BDF    2738106

                             Soph. 9 ACE    2738108

                             Class enrollment password:  sharks (no caps)

                             Click next

          Step 3                   Enter e-mail address

                             Click next

          Step 4                   Create a password

                             *Passwords are case sensitive

                             *Passwords must be between 6-12 characters

                             *Passwords must include numbers and letters

                             Enter your password and reenter your password

                             Click next

          Step 5          Enter your first name, last name, country of    residence, and state of residence

                             Click next

          Step 6                   Read the user agreement

                             Click on “I agree --create profile”

Once create a user profile is completed click on “end wizard and go to login page”

How to submit a paper:

1. Login to Turnitin

          *The login box is located in the upper right hand corner of the screen

          *Enter your username and password and click on Log In

2. Click on the name of your class

Click on the submit button next to the assignment you would like to submit a paper to.

3. Two ways to submit a paper

          1)  File upload

                   -enter a title

                   -click on Browse:

                             -find your paper (where you saved it)

                             -click on your paper name

                             -click on open

                             -click submit

                   -It will let you review your paper (to make sure you submitted the right one)

                   -If your paper is correct click  “yes, submit”

                   -If your paper is incorrect click “no, go back” and choose the right paper

                   -Once you have submitted a paper it will give you a digital receipt, which you may print. A digital receipt will also be e-mailed to you.

          2)  Cut & Paste

                   -Copy your paper

                   -Paste it into the box titled “cut and paste your paper”

                   -enter a title

                   -click submit

                   -Once you have submitted a paper it will give you a digital receipt, which you may print.  A digital receipt will also be e-mailed to you.

*Once you have submitted your paper you may log out.  You may only submit one paper per assignment.
