Teaching Philosophy The educational process for me is about more than just learning facts, it is about developing the cognitive tools and life skills necessary for developing abstract and critical thought. In today’s society it has become more important than ever to be able to think for oneself, especially in the area of social sciences. I chose to become a teacher because I wanted take on this challenge. As a teacher I am given the unique opportunity to challenge my students to ask questions, rather than just accept contemporary conventions. I want to help each of my students to develop a foundation of knowledge which will allow them to make connections to other academic disciplines, personal beliefs and life experiences. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Supplies Standard white notebook paper Blue or black pens, Two composition notebooks per term One 1” or 2” three-ring binder with 5 section dividers.
