Sarah Horton

Sarah Horton is brand new to the St. Francis family.  She is a Louisville native who graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, before receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Bellarmine University.  After college, Sarah began a career in Energy Management.  Her volunteer work at Kosair Children’s Hospital and the Home of the Innocents eventually led her to the realization that she needed to devote herself, full-time, to working with young children.

While pursuing her Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education at the University of Louisville, Sarah taught 3-year olds at Highland Presbyterian’s Weekday School.  She also had to chance to observe in many of Louisville’s finest child development centers and schools.  Upon graduation in May, 2008, she was hired as a lead teacher in a Junior Kindergarten classroom of 4-5 year old boys.

St. Francis School’s progressive philosophy of education combined with their beautiful campus immediately convinced Sarah that she had found the school where she was meant to teach.  Sarah particularly loves working with young students.  She feels there is no more important job that creating a love of school and learning in the thirsty minds of young children.

Sarah just moved from Jeffersontown to the Anchorage area, where she lives with her husband Kevin, and their two children Erin, who is 9, and Camron, who is 6.
