The Fifth Grade Curriculum as outlined by the Arlington Diocese is extensive and it is not my primary goal to be able to check off that I have accomplished everything on the list but to determine the needs of my students to prepare them for not only the next grade level but for the joy of lifelong learning. The needs of the students are the basis for my decisions on how much time to spend and how much to actually cover.

Please realize that these are goals and not what we actually accomplish each week. I try to be realistic in my planning but often I find that something needs reteaching or takes more time to accomplish. I reserve the right to utilize the "teachable moment" to move into a different area than planned if the opportunity arises.
