Classroom News November
November brings cooler weather and many opportunities to help our neighbors. The kindergartners will join with the entire Sanborn community to make bookmarks for the Thanksgiving baskets that will be delivered to seniors in need. We will also be part of our annual "Turkey's for America" drive. Please send in your spare change, so that we can help teach our children about the importance of giving.
We have two special programs this month, thanks to the generosity of our Enrichment Committee. The whole school will be treated to a musical program, entitled "Roots of American Music" which traces the origins of American music. The kindergartners will also meet Wing Master who will delight them with his birds of prey. This program is designed to enhance our woodland animal unit.
The "Community Read Along" is another highlight this month. Members of the Andover community will visit classrooms to read their favorite books to the children.
Kindergarten conferences are scheduled for November 3rd and 9th. There are no classes for kindergarten children on those days. Parent conference questionnaires were sent home last week.
This is a busy month, but a short month due to our Thanksgiving break. Please be aware of your child's need to adjust to the time difference. Consistent rules for bedtime work best.
