Mid-term Essay Question is:

In the movie, The Great Debaters, Melvin Tolson says, "It is my job to help you to find, to take back, and to keep your righteous mind."

What does 'righteous mind' mean?

Mid-term Essay criteria is the same as Essay#1 and Essay #2.

Deadline is November 28th.

Movie Week

This week we will be watching a movie in class. There is a worksheet that goes with the movie that must be finished and returned in class next week.

Deadline for Monday Classes(15 and 16) is November 23, 2008 Midnight (Sunday).

Deadline for Wednesday Classes(13, 07, and 25) is November 25, 2008 Midnight (Tuesday).

Deadline for Thursday Classes(10, 28, and 29) is  November 26, 2008 Midnight (Wednesday)

Topic: Have you ever felt a lack of freedom?

Hint:

• Thesis Statement doesn't have "Yes/No". (See Chapter 3 lecture about making a thesis statement.)
• Support 1: Personal Experience (Describe the situation in which you felt a lack of freedom.)
• Support 2: Textbook (Use the lecture or text information.)
• Support 3: Use a cultural example. (ie-Something from a movie, sitcom, music, quote from Korean or world famous person, etc.)
• Conclusion: Give some wisdom to the reader.
