Parts of a Paragraph Parts of a Paragraph

Parts of a paragraph:

Topic Sentence-tells what the paragraph is about  (written in the center box 1 of the chart)

Supporting Details-at least 3 pieces of information that relates to the topic sentence    (written in box 2,3,and 4)

Transition Words-these words are used to move from one idea to the next or can give an order to the details (written in box 2,3, and 4 before the details)

Conclusion Sentence-restates the topic and brings the paragraph to a close  (written in box 5)
